MBA chair participates in Chamber’s delegation to Prime Minister

The MBA is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and has contributed substantively to the forum established by the Chamber which brings together key stakeholders in the financial services sector, with the aim of presenting a unified voice and support Government ahead of the upcoming MONEYVAL evaluation.

To this effect the forum recently compiled its “Recommendations for the MONEYVAL assessment” which document was presented to the Prime Minister on the 27th July 2020 by a delegation led by the Chamber together with main members of the forum. Besides the MBA, the delegation comprised the Chamber’s Financial Services Business Section, the Chamber of Advocates, the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners, the Malta Institute of Taxation and the Malta Institute of Accountants.

The MBA’s Chair Rick Hunkin formed part of the said delegation. The main theme discussed with the Prime Minister was Malta’s progress in fulfilling the requirements of the MONEYVAL Report as the possibility of ‘grey-listing’ is an issue of primary concern for the financial services sector and business in general.
